The Minister of Transport and Infrastructural Development, Hon. F.T. Mhona, officially opened the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructural Development 2025 Strategic Planning Workshop underway after commencing yesterday together with the 8th Session of the Line Ministerโs Public Entities Corporate Governance Oversight (PECGO) Meeting at Holiday Inn, Bulawayo.
The Public Entities Corporate Governance Oversight Meeting serves as a critical platform to ensure that all agencies, parastatals, and state-owned enterprises under the Ministry operate in a transparent, efficient, and accountable manner. The meeting aims to:
โข Strengthen corporate governance frameworks
โข Enhance accountability and performance
โข Promote transparency and rigorous reporting
โข Align public entities with national transport and infrastructure priorities
โข Identify challenges and institute corrective measures
โข Ensure effective coordination across the sector, facilitating collaboration among air, rail, road, and other infrastructure bodies so that initiatives are coherent and mutually reinforcing
The NHS Board participated at the corporate governance workshop alongside other public entities under the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructural Development. This engagement brings together boards and leadership from across the sector to take stock, deepen coordination, reinforce accountability, and ensure alignment with national development priorities.
